Job Description
Systems Engineer
Support & Maintain data center infrastructure – install new equipment and operating systems, deploy applications, troubleshoot the issues.
Manage and document production system backup and recovery procedures for offsite disk and tape storage.
Document system configurations, server, OS, and VM build practices, backup procedures, troubleshooting guides, and keep infrastructure drawings current with changes.
Maintain OS patching and virus scanning system updates across systems.
Automate system monitoring and maintenance tasks by creating scripts and applications or identifying and evaluating off the shelf tools.
Analyze and resolve problems involving interaction between applications, server hardware/firmware/OS and storage by working with software developers, QA, and equipment vendors.
Position Requirements:
The candidate should have a degree in an IT related field or equivalent training and experience managing systems in an enterprise, mission critical environment.
Ability to solve complex problems and face challanges to troubleshoot.
Experience installing, configuring, and managing VMware, Windows, Linux, and Solaris systems.
Knowledge of MS SQL 2005 & 2008.
